We are super excited about the new airport lounge at Kansas City International Airport (MCI)! We have gotten so many questions about how to get access to the airport lounge, so we wanted to explain more about the Escape Lounge as well as how you can access it.
The new Escape Lounge at MCI includes: complimentary fresh food and drinks throughout the day, is family friendly (0-24 months may enter free of charge), has amenities to help you relax, charge devices, access fast wifi, print and scan copies, and more!
To obtain lounge access, you have a couple of options. You can pay the entry fee of $29.95 a person or you can have the right credit card in your wallet and enter free of charge! There are a few cards that can grant you access to the lounge. We love Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card and this card does give you lounge access. But, with recent changes, it will only allow the primary card holder access, unless you pay a fee to add an authorized user for lounge access.
There are a few other premium cards that grant access to the primary card holder, plus two guests. You can see a few of our favorites here! All of these card options earn flexible rewards points that can be used with a variety of travel partners.
There are a couple steps to take for Priority Pass lounge access after approval of one of the cards.
- Create your online account.
- You may receive an email within a few days of approval about the Priority Pass benefit. Priority Pass is simply an airport lounge pass that allows you access to several lounges worldwide. If you don’t get an email, you can also follow this link to create your Priority Pass account.
- Once you have created your account using your card number, you can save the pass in your digital wallet on your phone. You will also receive a card in the mail within a few days.
- Once you are set up, you now have lounge access!
Having this airport lounge in KC is a game changer! Free food and drinks and a place to relax before a flight will help elevate the travel experience and can save you so much money! This is just one more HUGE benefit for those of us in Kansas City with a premium card in our wallets!
