Booking hotel rooms on points can be so valuable and helpful in making vacations affordable. Did you know you can combine Hyatt points with almost anyone? You can!
Maybe you want to book a hotel on points but don’t quite have enough, or maybe you want to combine your points with another family member or friend for a vacation. Hyatt lets you do this!

Combining points with another person
This past spring we traveled to Hyatt Regency Lost Pines outside of Austin, Texas. My mom joined my small family of 3. We had 2 rooms booked, one for my husband and I, and another room for my daughter and mom to share. We decided to combine our points for the two rooms since I have Hyatt status and we wanted everything under my name. So, we decided to have my mom transfer points from her Word of Hyatt account to mine.
Combining points is not hard, but unfortunately it can not be done online. To combine points, you will need to use the Hyatt Point Combining Request Form. You can then either scan the form and email it in, or you can mail the form. We chose to scan the form and email it. It took about a week to get confirmation that the points had been transferred to my account.
Things to Remember:
- Transfers to another account can only be made once every 30 days, so make sure you know the exact amount you will need to transfer before combining.
- The process took about a week for us, but it can take longer, so I would recommend doing it at least a few weeks ahead of time if you want to ensure the points get transferred before you plan to book your stay.
- Once points are transferred, they belong to the person holding the account that the points are transferred to.
- Combining points does count as “activity” on your account, so this would help keep the points active and usable before expiring. Hyatt points expire after 24 months of no activity on an account.
