How To Get Free Disney and SeaWorld Tickets

If you have looked into prices for Disney or SeaWorld tickets, you know how expensive they can be. I wanted to find a way to help cover the costs of those tickets, so we decided to have my husband open the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card to help make the trip more affordable. We did this because of the card’s reimbursement option.

Here’s how to use the card to get free Disney, SeaWorld, or other park tickets:

1) Open the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card, meet the spend, and get your miles bonus.

You can use your card for any normal household spending in addition to your travel expenses to meet that $4,000 minimum spend. Once you meet the $4,000 threshold, the 75,000 miles (plus the 8,000+ miles you got for spending $4k on the card) will be deposited into your account.

2) Buy the tickets on the right website.

When purchasing straight through Disney, the purchase of park tickets codes on the credit card as “entertainment,” but there is a work around.  If you order Disney tickets through a travel site (like Undercover Tourist), the purchase will code as “travel” and is eligible to be reimbursed on your Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card account.  Tickets on this site are often only slightly cheaper, but since they code the right way as “travel,” we can easily reimburse the purchase with our “miles.” This trick can work for park tickets to Disney, Universal, SeaWorld, LegoLand, Six Flags, and so much more!

3) Reimburse the ticket purchase using your miles.

Log on to your Capital One banking site and click on the rewards page. Select “Cover travel purchases” and look through the available purchases to get reimbursed. If you bought your tickets on Undercover Tourist, you should see the ticket purchase listed as eligible for reimbursement. Use your miles to “reimburse” that purchase and you will get a statement credit so you no longer have to pay for those tickets!

This is such a great way to help reduce costs and make a Disney trip or SeaWorld adventure more affordable! You can save a TON on Disney and SeaWorld tickets by using this card strategy.

And if you want to double the savings, open your own Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card and then refer a family member or friend to get their own card. You will earn referral miles AND you can combine your miles to maximize your savings even more!
