Those of us here at KC Savvy Travelers are HUGE fans of Chase Bank. We love their easy-to-use travel rewards, the flexibility and variety of transfer partners, the value we get with transferring points, etc. We definitely almost always recommend starting with them, but there is another card that we like to recommend for vacation rental stays, cruises, and even tickets. The card: Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card.
We both hold Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Cards through Capital One. Keri has used it to offset costs of Disney tickets and Lauren has used it for Airbnb stays. There is a feature with these miles that allows you to “cover travel purchases.” It is basically like a statement credit. If you are someone that likes to stay at vacation rentals or go on cruises, this is probably a card you definitely want to grab. If you have a player 2 (a spouse/partner), then you can refer them to this card as well and combine points to really offset quite a bit of your travel costs!
Another reason we both opted for this card is that you get 2X miles on every transaction! This is a great card to have so that anytime we aren’t working on a sign-up-bonus and can’t maximize cards, we can use the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card.
One final perk of this card is that you can use the miles earned on this card to transfer to Wyndham. Wyndham points can be used for Vacasa which is similar to AirBnB and VRBO. We have seen a lot of great value redemptions using points in this way (even in Hawaii!). Be sure to check out the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card and see if it is right for you!
