The BEST Cards To Save On Disney!

Disney can be an aspirational trip for so many, but the price tag keeps people from making this trip a reality. But, don’t let the price tag keep you from making those amazing family memories!

By grabbing the right credit cards, you can make Disney happen for a small fraction of the price! Let me break down some of our favorite cards to use to cover those Disney expenses!

Tickets

Pro-tip: Purchase your tickets on Undercover Tourist so that they code as “travel” on your purchase. When the purchase codes as “travel”, you are able to use credit card miles to help cover these expenses! If you purchase straight through Disney, you won’t be able to use your miles to cover these costs.

  1. Grab the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card and use the sign up bonus and spend to help cover the costs of tickets to Disneyland or Disney World. You can use the feature of “covering travel purchases” to use the miles earned on this card to help offset this expense.
  2. Another idea would be to grab the Aeroplan® Credit Card. You can use the miles earned on this card to also receive a statement credit for eligible travel purchases.
  3. You can also grab the Disney® Inspire Visa® Card to help offset Disney tickets. Use the sign up bonus offers and statement credit to save hundreds!

Flights

Grab a card that earns Southwest Rapid Rewards! We love flying to Orlando or LA using Southwest. Not only can you use Southwest Rapid Rewards points for flights, if you have a companion pass, you can take a companion with you for only $5.60 (in taxes and fees) each way! Onsite Stay

If you plan to stay on property at Disney World or Disneyland, you can open a cash back earning card like the Capital One® Spark Cards. You can also use the Disney® Inspire Visa® Card to help with these costs. Check out some of the cards for stays HERE!

One other tip for staying on property is to Visit the Pixie Point Gals Website and work with Chelsea and Kim to book your on-site Disney Vacation Club Rental. Disney Vacation Club is Disney’s timeshare program, BUT people often rent out their timeshare stays for a steep discount (like 40% off). The Pixie Point Gals will help you find the perfect on-site resort stay for your family and a fraction of the cost. If you do this, make sure to let them know that KC Savvy Travelers sent you their way!

But, when you have miles to use, like those from Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card, the savings can really add up! You can use your miles from Capital One to cover this purchase because renting from the Pixie Point Gals will code as “travel” on your credit card account. Then, you can use the miles you earned on the sign up bonus and spend to “cover your travel purchase.”

Any miles you have earned can be used to cover the cost of the stay. So, not only are you getting the room for around 40% off the Disney price, you can cover what you are paying with the miles earned through Capital One®. And remember, if you happened to grab one of the Capital One® Spark Cards, you can combine those earnings with your Capital One travel miles to maximize your savings.

Don’t forget, you can also use miles earned from the Aeroplan® Credit Card to get a statement credit on your account.

Off-site Stay

If you plan to stay off Disney property, you have a variety of options. If doing a hotel stay, you can grab our favorite starter card and use that sign up bonus points toward a hotel stay. If your plan is to stay at a vacation rental, then you can use the miles earned on the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card to cover the travel purchase (just like I mentioned previously.)

You really do have several options of cards that can help you save hundreds, if not thousands on a Disney vacation!
